Originally from Arkansas, Amy James is familiar with residential listings in Oklahoma City, Bethany and Edmond, where she currently lives.
After graduating from Alma High School, Amy attended Southern Nazarene University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Before joining the real estate field, she taught Family and Consumer Science in high school and middle school, taught kindergarten, and owned Kumon Center, an after-school learning center for math and reading.
Amy’s previous career gave her valuable experience working with people of many different cultures and backgrounds. “In education, you are discussing people’s children and their futures, so it can be very emotional and intense,” Amy explains. “Likewise, person’s home is often their biggest investment, and confidentiality and sensitivity are very important.” Amy draws from her experiences during the listing and selling transaction to help her clients deal with their attachments and memories.
Amy brings excellent communication skills and knowledge in renovation and property investment to her clients. “I have a good eye for a house that can become a beloved home,” she says. “If one needs work, I can help my client see the possibilities and let them know roughly what it would cost to make the updates needed.” Amy explains. “Also, I can guide my clients as to which properties offer immediate positive cash flow, as well as which one to stay away from.”
In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. “I enjoy picking the kids up from school whenever I can, and attending their swim lessons, programs, and sports. I am blessed that they live close by!”
